The birth of Moonstone Designs started when we were traveling in magical Morocco. We fell in love with the colourful culture, people and art and decided to bring a piece back to Australia with us.
Moonstone Designs specialise in handmade jewellery made by us here in Sydney as well as pieces ethically sourced from handicraft artisans we have met in our travels. Our vision is to source ethical and conscious pieces by connecting with the individual artisans at the very roots.
Sustainability and Ethics
“Walk as if you’re kissing the earth with your feet.” Thich Nhat Hanh
To reduce our carbon foot print on the planet, where possible, we use eco-friendly materials with all our products and packaging. This includes cruelty-free feathers, organic cotton, hemp and recycled materials.
Our collection is inspired by nature and the colourful Indigenous communities of the world. As artisans ourselves, we strongly believe in supporting local artists of the places we visit. Unless made by us, our products have been sourced from small, ethical traders. In doing this we attempt to help preserve and support traditional crafts and skills, empowering rural communities around the world.
Our vision is to create honest, and conscious products, whilst promoting fair wages and ethical working conditions for all individuals part of the creative process.
A percentage of our sales are donated monthly to the amazing Asha Foundation. This organisation is dedicated to helping disadvantaged children of Nepal, providing them with access to clean water, quality education and sanitation projects. Click the link below to find out how to donate or sponsor a child.
We also donate to The Wildweness Society. This Australian, community-based organisation is a not-for-profit non-governmental environmental advocacy group.
