About the artist :
Singer and multi-instrumentalist Ella Belfanti’s heartfelt music crosses genres and incorporates elements from many styles. Notable for her percussive style of guitar playing, Ella’s music explores a range of tones and sounds from her guitar and vocals. Ella won ‘Best Guitarist’ at the Bluesfest Busking Compeition in 2017 after playing a half-hour set at the Busking Stage, winning a Fender Paramount Deluxe with a hand-painted case by artist Rebecca Cunningham.
She also won the 2016 New Years Eve talent quest at Woodford Folk Festival singing Amy Winehouse’s ‘Valerie’ as a duo with Ayla Kaan.
Her debut EP ‘Going in Circles’ was released February 14, featuring 6 originals songs with all instrumental and vocal parts performed, recorded and produced by her. The songs have a unique sound crafted from layering of vocals and guitar, as well as bass, bongos, cajon, flute, and sounds made from found objects.
Ella grew up listening to The Cat Empire, Katie Noonan, John Butler Trio, Bjork, Hunters and Collectors, Blink-182, The Waifs, The Arctic Monkeys, The Indigo Girls and Of Monsters and Men, and has drawn influence from their quirky sounds.
